The Mental Health Board is required to have a ratio of clients, family and professionals; none of these private citizens can work for the County in the area of mental health. They are appointed by the Board of Supervisors for 3-year terms.

This state-mandated board is required to study, evaluate and make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on any or all mental health issues and programs in the County. Behavioral Health's Director attends the meetings and informs the board of existing programs and the plans of future growth of programs in the County.

The Mental Health Board meets monthly, on the First Friday at 10:00 a.m. This meeting is open to the public. Please call 265-1758 for meeting location.
