Now getting a sense of life in Nevada County in the mid to late 1800s is only a few clicks away! You can search across all years of the collection by news headline (e.g., "empire mine," "chinese") or category (e.g., "announcements," "legal notices," "local intelligence") that have been extracted from the daily publications or you can browse through the newspaper by year, month, and/or day. As the newspaper is stored as image files converted to PDF, the actual text is not searchable.
