Madelyn Helling Library proudly presents
Susan Roth, well-known author and illustrator of"Listen to the Wind."
Susan will present her program at the Madelyn Helling Library on Thursday, November 19th from 4-5pm. This free program is sponsored by Friends of the Library. Her book "Listen to the Wind" is the best-selling children's adaptation of "Three Cups of Tea: One Man's Journey to Change the World...One Child at a Time," Greg Mortenson’s award-winning memoir about building schools in Pakistan. This is our Nevada County Reads book for 2009. The collagist will show some behind-the-scenes pictures of how the book was created primarily using found objects, and inspired by Pakistani artifacts made from recycled items. She will also be available to sign your own personal copy of "Listen to the Wind" at the end of the program. Refreshments will be provided and a few books will be available for purchase, a portion going to the Friends of the Library in support of library programs. For more information, call (530) 265-1538.
Open to All: What the Library Means to Me, a memorable anthology from local community members and personal memories. Purchase one for $16.00 to support book buying for all libraries in the Nevada County Library System.
