The Nevada County Sanitation District No. 1 is considering changes to how the County treats and disposes the wastewater of Lake of the Pines and surrounding communities. Improvements to the existing wastewater treatment system are necessitated by more stringent water quality criteria and wastewater discharge regulations by the State of California, which issues WWTP operation permits. The county encourages public input and comments throughout the planning process.
