Children's Healthcare Services The Public Health Department participates in several programs that provide health care for children.

Chronic Disease Prevention & Management Prevent, manage, and reduce complications of chronic diseases to improve quality of life.

Clinics Clinical services are provided in the Grass Valley/Nevada City area and at the Joseph Center in Truckee.

Communicable Disease Prevention The Public Health Department investigates and responds to infectious and communicable disease, as well as potential outbreaks in the community.

Health Education Provides information concerning teens, drug abuse, tobacco prevention, HIV/AIDS, and other health promotion programs.

Immunization Program Provides child and adult immunization and education for vaccine preventable diseases.

Lead Poisoning Prevention Provides education to community schools, medical practitioiners, and childcare centers regarding lead poisoning screening, lead exposure risks and resources.

Maternal, Child & Adolescent Health (MCAH) The MCAH Program assesses and provides health services for mothers, infants, children and adolescents.

Teen Services Provides immunizations, counseling and other health services.
