The 4-H School-age Child Care Program also is administered through this department, which operates at nine elementary schools in the county serving over nine hundred children annually.

Additionally, the department serves as liaison with the University of California and the hundreds of campus-based Cooperative Extension specialists. Hundreds of publications, leaflets, newsletters, and audio visual materials are available through the department, in addition to trainings, workshops and educational short courses.
