The responsibility of the County Counsel is to provide legal counsel for the County in areas of defense of litigation and meet the legal needs of the various departments within the County.

The County Counsel:

• Reviews all contracts and legal documents concerning the County and its operations.
• Represents County officers and department heads in the performance of their duties for the County and handles litigation for the County departments.
• Reviews County resolutions, ordinances and agreements before presentation to the Board of Supervisors for action.
