PLEASE NOTE: In spring 2007, the Department of Transportation & Sanitation was split into two departments -- Public Works and Sanitation -- and placed within the Community Development Agency.
The Integrated Waste Management Division of the Sanitation Department manages the County waste transfer stations, as well as our rapidly-expanding recycling efforts (including our innovative Nevada County Recycles! and Used Oil Recycling programs). Oversight of sewage treatment systems is also our responsibility.
