For a trip within a single Zone:

For Two-Zone trips on Routes 5 and 6: Adult Cash Fare: $3.00

One-day Pass (unlimited rides): $7.50
Monthly Pass (unlimited rides): $90.00
Discount Fares for Seniors(65+)/Persons with disabilities, Youth(6-17) with ID (see Rider's Guide for more information): Single Zone Cash Fare: $0.75
Two Zone Cash Fare: $1.50
One-Day Pass: $2.25
One-Day Two-Zone Pass: $3.75
Single Zone Monthly Pass: $22.50

Passes may be purchased with cash or personal check (made payable to Gold Country Stage) from bus drivers and at the following locations:
- Gold Country Stage, 13081 John Bauer Avenue, Grass Valley
- Department of Public Works, Eric Rood Government Center, 950 Maidu Ave., Nevada City
BUS STOPS Gold Country Stage buses will stop at any signed Bus Stop. In certain rural areas there are
limited stops the bus will make if the passenger flags the bus and it is safe. (Driver will determine if a stop if safe.) Due to safety issues, there are no longer flag stops along the Route 5 Highway 49 corridor.
HOURS OF OPERATION The Gold Country Stage operates generally from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm weekdays. There is no Saturday or Sunday service.
Gold County Stage does not operate on the following holidays:

DEMAND RESPONSE SERVICE
Some Gold Country Stage routes have stops that are "On Demand." On Demand segments are shown on the route maps in shaded areas. Refer to the printed schedule for specific On Demand schedule information. Call 477-0103 or 1-888-660-7433 at least 60 minutes prior to the scheduled pickup time.
PERSONAL TRIP PLANNING BY PHONE
Call 477-0103 or 1-888-660-7433 and ask Transit Services personnel to assist you. Give us your location, destination, and desired arrival time. Assistance is available 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, except County holidays.
SERVICES FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES
All Gold Country Stage transit vehicles are equipped with wheelchair lifts. Paratransit services for persons with disabilities are provided in our area by Gold Country Telecare: 530-272-1710. You can download our Paratransit Service Area Map (a 275Kb Acrobat PDF file). Some paratransit service area changes were effective May 4, 2009.
TRANSIT CONNECTIONS
Gold Country Stage Route 5 connects with Placer County Transit (which serves Auburn, Rocklin, Sierra College, Roseville Galleria, and Sacramento Light Rail), Auburn Transit, and Amtrak as connecting schedules allow!

BOARDING THE BUS
Before boarding, allow passengers to exit and permit the driver to secure patrons using wheelchairs. Ask your driver any questions you may have about your trip, fare or transfer prior to departure. Front seats are reserved for elderly and disabled patrons.
RIDER ETIQUETTE
Smoking, eating, drinking and playing of loud radios or tape recorders are not permitted. Shoes and shirts are required to be worn by all passengers. When the bus is crowded, follow your operator's seating directions. If standing, hold onto the hand railing firmly while the bus is in motion. See the Rider's Guide for additional information under "How to Ride the Bus."
BICYCLES
All buses have front mounted bike racks available on a first-come, first-served basis. Passengers must be able to load and unload their bikes without assistance. If the bike rack is full and there is room inside, then the bike may be brought on board.
