The Minimum Security section of the Wayne Browne Correctional Facility has 94 beds in a dorm style setting. Minimum security houses both males and females with a co-ed dayroom. Only sentenced inmates may be housed in the Minimum Security unit. Inmates are screened by the classification unit to determine suitability for Minimum Security housing.

In custody behavior
Willingness to meet grooming standards
Willingness and ability to workMinimum Security inmates work at various job assignments inside and outside the facility and are given the opportunity to acquire basic work skills. Job assignments include the kitchen, laundry, library, and facility maintenance. Inmates assigned to work outside the facility work with other government agencies and non-profit organizations.
