If your refrigerator is not working you can still recycle it at the McCourtney Road Transfer (open Wednesday through Sunday 8:00 am to 3:30 pm). There is a $20.00 fee to recycle it due to the cost to capture the refrigerant in a safe manner. (It is against the law to do this yourself!) If for some reason there is no refrigerant in the unit, you will still be charged $20.00.
